Prescription Formulary Drugs
Effective with prescriptions filled on and after March 1, 2013, The Fund utilizes a different Prescription Benefit Manager – Optum RX for its prescription drug benefit program. You can register yourself on Optum RX’s web site ( www.optumrx.com ) to obtain a vast array of information about your prescription claims, your plan’s benefit structure, generic alternatives for you to discuss with your Doctor, as well as general information about prescription drugs.
The co-payment for generic drugs will be $3 for each prescription. Brand name drugs will carry two different co-payments— $10 for preferred brand name drugs and a 50% copay for non-preferred brand name drugs (with a minimum copay of $30 and a maximum copay of $40 for each such prescription). Although over-the-counter drugs are generally excluded from coverage, over-the-counter Proton Pump Inhibitors (for example, Prilosec OTC) and Non-Sedating Antihistamines (for example, Claritin) will be covered with the generic copay of $3 if prescribed by your Doctor.
A listing of the preferred brand name drugs can be obtained by clicking on the link below. This will retrieve an Adobe PDF file for you to view or print.
